Mother's Day

I love this picture of my mom and me. She was my world and it shows. I always thought she was so beautiful, and I still do. I remember trips to Taco Bell, just the two of us, big sticks at the zoo, and jumping in the waves at the beach. And then there were the simple things--making sugar cookies for just about every holiday (we had a turkey cookie cutter), blowing bubbles, reading, reading, reading, eating See's candy, and when I got older, playing Barbies (even though my mom wasn't the best at it--her story lines stunk). There's something about a mother-daughter relationship, isn't there? That fine, fragile line between being a friend and a mother. And it's a relationship that changes, yet stays exactly the same. I'll always be my  mother's little girl, and even though I don't always like that, it's comforting too. I love you, Mom.

You are an incredible writer! This was beautiful. It made me laugh because my kids probably think my story lines stink too. I also got a little teary eyed because you are a right- there is something about a mother- daughter relationship. I have sure been thinking about you all today. sure love ya! Missy
