Fast and Loose

Oscar ran into our room this morning, announcing excitedly that he had his first loose tooth. Seems like he's too little (even though many of his friends have already lost teeth), but I've seen it wiggling, so it must be true.

In other news, in the grand tradition of jinxed Halloweens, Oscar came down with a cough the night before and was unable to trick or treat with us (which I guess worked out alright since he was never sure about what he wanted to be), though he did beg to do our street and we relented.

Lily about stayed home too due to a wardrobe disagreement (namely we told her she had to wear a coat and she refused because it covered up her gown). Finally after some tears (Lily's), she agreed to our conditions: pictures-no coat, trick or treating-coat.

I finally finished Henry's costume, and not a moment too soon. I have to say, it's the most difficult I've attempted and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, though Henry wasn't too thrilled with it (until it got cold, then he didn't mind so much). People who heard me complain all week about how stressed I was and how hard it was to make asked why I didn't just buy a costume. It all comes down to one thing: pride.
