I read an article in Sunday's paper about moms who had lost their jobs due to the economy, and who because of this were given a rare opportunity to be stay-at-home moms, if only for a brief period. They talked about the little things like enjoying a snowball fight with their kids, or picking them up from school. They said how special this time was, and how they wanted to savor every moment. I'm sure a lot of stay-at-home moms felt sad reading this article. I know I did.

Of course this job isn't for the faint of heart, I know that. Some days I don't leave the house. Some days I don't shower. And some days I wonder why I do it. It's been described as a thankless job. Well, yeah, your kids probably aren't going to say to you, "Mom, the toilet looks great!" or "Thanks for the clean underwear!" The thanks have to be translated.

Today I helped in Oscar's kindergarten class, and as we were leaving the school, I asked, "Did you have a good day?" He looked at me and said, "Yeah, Mom, especially 'cause you were there."

That'll do for now.

Around here there are not many stay at home moms. I really treasure my time with my little ones although some days it can be really rough. Every now and then I get a clear picture of how short this time is when they are little and it is worth every sacrifice. Today was one of those days where I say, tomorrow will be better....so I really enjoyed this post! Have a wonderful day mar!

It would be really sad to miss all the little moments in the day with your child. There are just so many precious things that cannot be recorded or saved, and do not have substitutes.
