Give Thanks

Last week marked our first Thanksgiving without Phil, allowing Phil to stay at home and complete a way-past-due paper, while the kids and I traveled to Mesa to spend the holiday with a good chunk of Phil's family. I know, I know, I seem to be a glutton for punishment, but it really was not too bad. The kids were sicker than I thought, especially Henry, which made me feel like the greatest mom EVER, but they all survived. The highlights were: Hoover Dam in the rain, lots of chatting with MaryAnn, pumpkin pie made with rice milk, watching the cousins play, seeing Twilight with the girls, seeing the lights at the Mesa Temple, and meeting Sarah's and Rachel's new love interests.

To say this year has been a challenge is to put it mildly, but at this time of year, how can we not give thanks? I give thanks for family, especially for family who has left us, and family who has come to us. I give thanks for a house of our own, and food at our table. I give thanks for freedoms and a relationship with Heaven that keeps me putting one foot in front of the other.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving despite the challenges. I still need to come see the new Scoville abode! Thanks for organizing ladies' night this week - I had so much fun.

So wonderful to hear from you. Look at Oscar and Lilly!! So Big! I can hardly believe it! And little Henry is so cute. He looks like his big brother and sister. Madelyn just turned the ripe old age of 6. She is loving kindergarten. She is in the talented and gifted class (who knew kindergaten had such a thing) and is reading at a second grade level. She is all girl.... nothing has changed there! Our little Aiden is 2 now. He has fallen in love with football. This hobbly consumes his life. Needless to say I play lots of catch. He is the typical 2 year old boy. Into everything. He keeps us on the move to put it mildly. Baby Omanson #3 will be arriving this summer. We are surprising the fam when we go back home for Christmas. We are very excited. Congrats on the new house. Hope all is well.
