It was pretty standard, as far as they go--parade, playing, out to dinner (this was new, and a good idea I thought. I couldn't muster energy to barbeque) and fireworks in the driveway with the beloved Blacks.
Halfway through the parade, Oscar decided he had had enough, and that parades were booo-ring, so he, Phil and Henry headed home, while Lily and I stayed on. Here is our conversation fifteen minutes after they left:
Me: So, Lily, are you ready to go home now?
Lily: No. I want to stay to the end.
Me: Oh, okay.
Fifteen minutes later,
Me: So, are you ready to go now?
Lily: No, Mama, I want to stay to the end.
Near the end of the parade, Lily finally conceded that she had seen enough, and we could return home. Jeesh, who knew the girl was such a fan of parades?

It looks like you had a great 4th, and your kids are definitely growing up. I love all the pictures and updates. I wish I could come home and visit more often!
