I arrived home this afternoon. Marlene and the kids picked me up from the airport. I was so happy to see them. Lily was asleep and Oscar was happy to see me. Marlene relayed his statement when he saw me, “He was in Kansas City.”
It was nice to be able to spend time with Triston and Steve and the other folks from the BYU Master’s and Ph.D program. I really liked their program and the way run their research program. It seemed particularly organized in a way that was helpful to my friends at BYU.
The AAMFT conference was very good. I was able to network with Cody Hollist who is doing some research in Brazil about mental and physical health and families. He is working at the University of Nebraska and is a BYU PhD graduate. I think that it would be fun to work with him on this research project.
I also saw many family therapists and family therapist researchers at this conference. It seemed like I was able to at least talk to some and then just get to see others. I also met some good people that are good therapists and could be good contacts depending on where we live in the future. I had a great time. I would like to take the family with me next year or in the future because I thought that they might have liked it with them.
I am in Alma 18. I am reading about Alma and Amulek and just starting to read about Ammon and his brethren. It takes time to keep up with the reading and to maintain a good pace, while making up for missed days.
“A dream that you don’t fight for can haunt you for the rest of your life” and “See a need, fill a need” are quotes from the recent move Robots. I think that this can apply to our lives. I know that it is important to keep in mind as we seek to find ourselves in this world that is so difficult.
This is short. I’ll do more later.
